Kelly S. Wood Recognized for Excellence in Firefighting
Kelly Wood was recently interviewed by CBS and NBC regarding his involvement in the containing and extinguishing of major fires in Arizona
PINETOP, AZ, August 19, 2011 /Government PR News/ -- Kelly S. Wood, Fire Marshal for Pinetop Fire Department, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in firefighting.
Mr. Wood has devoted his career to ensuring the safety of others. He serves as a fire marshal for the Pinetop Fire Department, which adheres to the simple mission of "Prevent Harm, Survive, Be Nice." Mr. Wood is responsible for monitoring weather for fire danger, shutting down debris burning, functioning as the Public Information Officer, and training volunteers and the general public in Wildland Urban Interface. He was recently interviewed by CBS and NBC regarding his involvement in the containing and extinguishing of major fires in Arizona.
Now pursuing an associate degree, Mr. Wood is a Certified Firefighter I and II, Emergency Medical Technician and an Arson Investigator. He is a member of his local union, the IAFF Local 4217, AZFMA and The International Association of Arson Investigators. In 2008, Mr. Wood was named Firefighter of the Year and received a Fire Chief's Award of Merit. He was recently honored with an appreciation award from the Boy Scouts of America. In the years to come, Mr. Wood is working on legislature for fire sprinklers in Arizona. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his wife and four daughters in his spare time, when he is not at the beach in San Diego, Calif.
