Judy L. Wertheimer Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Election Administration
Judy L. Wertheimer brings paralegal experience to her second career as election specialist at Washington County
SAINT PAUL, MN, June 15, 2010 /Government PR News/ --Judy L. Wertheimer, Election Specialist for Washington County and Consultant for Mary Kay Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in election administration.
A paralegal for 17 years, Judy L. Wertheimer had always had a fascination with the law. She thus decided to parlay her legal experience into a second career as an election specialist for Washington County. Noted for her knowledge of the law and elections, she is charged with assisting in the county's voter registration program. Her responsibilities include preparing and programming ballots, managing candidate filings, testing machines for accuracy, working with printers, school districts and municipal and town clerks, managing the care of absentee ballots, training head election judges and clerks, and running elections. Recently asked to join a work task force in the Election Center in Houston, TX, Ms. Wertheimer attributes the success that she has enjoyed in her second career to her strong work ethic.
In addition to her involvement with the county, Ms. Wertheimer is a consultant for Mary Kay Inc. A certified paralegal through Hamline University, she received a bachelor of science in computer science and communication from Bemidji State University and a certification in election administration from Auburn University. She is a member of the Federal Emergency Relief Administration. In five years, Ms. Wertheimer hopes to obtain a master of arts and attend an ICIS federal program to help with elections overseas. She would also like to host a program on federal elections through the United States Election Assistance Commission and become certified with federal rules and regulations.
